Apple TV serves up The Dink in July, the Ben Stiller and Jake Johnson sports comedy, as the streamer tees up its summer slate with an early look at what’s coming.

Apple just circled a date for its pickleball comedy The Dink, and yes, that is a real term. Ben Stiller is in it, Jake Johnson leads it, and Apple slotted it squarely into the summer. Here is what you need to know.

'#TheDink. Coming July 24 to Apple TV.'

When and where

Apple Original Films says The Dink premieres July 24, 2026 on Apple TV. The date arrived as part of an early look at the streamer’s summer calendar. No trailer yet.

The setup

Johnson plays Dusty Boyd, a former tennis prodigy who never quite became the guy everyone expected. These days he is stuck coaching chaotic kids at his dad Chuck’s suburban country club, nodding along with dad’s crusade against pickleball just to stay in the man’s good graces. Then Dusty re-injures himself, tennis is off the table, and he turns to pickleball for rehab. And wouldn’t you know it, he starts to like the game — especially with his new partner Candace (Mary Steenburgen) by his side.

What follows is Dusty working through old failures, bumping into his childhood rival Andy Roddick (yes, that Andy Roddick), and building toward a final showdown that puts the club’s future, his relationship with his father, and his own sense of self on the line. Also, if you speak pickleball: the title is not subtle.
