From Misfires to Masterpieces: Every My Hero Academia Movie, Ranked

Four big-screen battles, one definitive verdict: from Class 1-A’s early trials to the franchise’s biggest brawls, we rank every My Hero Academia movie by heart, hype, and heroic growth.
Four My Hero Academia movies in, and the track record is solid: some bangers, some mixed bags, none unwatchable. I threw them into a worst-to-best ranking below. The gaps between a couple of them aren’t massive, but the top spot is pretty clear.
Spoilers ahead for all four MHA movies.
Worst to best: the MHA movies ranked

4) My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission (Movie 3) — IMDb: 7.0/10
The premise sounds huge: a terrorist group aims to wipe out quirk society, and the world’s suddenly leaning on tomorrow’s heroes. Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki need to move as one... except Deku gets framed as a murderer, which throws everything off.
There was a lot of potential here, but reactions were mixed. The whole 'Deku is the criminal' hook doesn’t land in a satisfying way, and the final fight never quite hits the series’ top gear. Big scope, uneven execution.

3) My Hero Academia: You're Next (Movie 4) — IMDb: 6.9/10
The newest one puts Deku up against Dark Might, a villain staking a claim as the new 'Symbol of Peace.' The wrinkle: he’s a warped mirror of the hero Deku grew up idolizing, which is a cool angle on paper and gives the setup an extra sting.
It’s a fun watch with some striking ideas, but a common complaint from fans is the fights just don’t wow the way MHA usually does. Good time, not top-tier.

2) My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (Movie 1) — IMDb: 7.3/10
The franchise’s first movie takes us to I-Expo, the world’s premier hero-tech showcase, where villains hijack the entire event and trap All Might. That leaves the rescue to Deku and a handful of Class 1-A standouts.
It delivers the Deku/All Might team-up fans were craving, which carries a lot of the hype. The trade-off: a pretty forgettable villain and a focus on only a few students. Still, as an opening salvo, it’s slick and very rewatchable.

1) My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising (Movie 2) — IMDb: 7.8/10
Class 1-A takes a work trip to peaceful Nabu Island that quickly turns into a trial by fire. The main threat, Nine, is packing multiple quirks — including a replica of All For One’s — and finally forces the whole class to punch above their weight.
This is the one that hits hardest: the fights are brutal and beautifully animated, the stakes feel earned, and the plot actually supports the spectacle. It’s the rare anime movie that makes the entire ensemble feel essential — and it clears the bar the others set.
That’s my order. If yours looks different, I get it — the middle two are pretty close depending on what you value most: big emotional payoffs or pure fireworks.
If you want to catch up on the main series, the My Hero Academia anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.
