From Cute to Fearsome: House of the Dragon's Dragons Ranked by Reddit
Fans have chosen their favorite House of the Dragon beast, and that is not Caraxes or Vhagar.
House of the Dragon is set in the time when House Targaryen was in full power, and that means that its impressive cast of characters includes not only humans, but also creatures that are bound to impress absolutely every viewer – dragons. So far, the Game of Thrones prequel has featured ten fire-breathing monsters.
But judging by the name of the Targaryen civil war, the Dance of the Dragons, more flying lizards will hit the screen in the coming seasons.
When creating the dragons for the show, the designers made three types of dragon subspecies: dinosaur-like, horse-like, and wolf-like. The appearance of the creatures turned out to be very impressive and realistic.
Scenes with dragons have become the highlight of the show. But which flying beast is the most popular among viewers?
Fans turned to Reddit to answer that question. In the subreddit dedicated to the show, user u/couca_valerio asked other fans who their favorite dragon was from Season 1. And the answers turned out to be surprising. Here is the list of all the dragons (and their riders) featured in House of the Dragon Season 1, ranked by Redditors' upvotes on the top comments:

Meleys getting the first place may come as a surprise to many viewers.
After all, we have seen much more of Syrax, Caraxes, and Vhagar on the show. But Rhaenys Targaryen's dragon made a big impression when she and her rider appeared in the Dragonpit during Aegon's coronation. Fans also love her dinosaur-based design with spikes around the neck, which makes her look like one of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons.
As for the bottom of the list, the dragons that appeared there didn't get much screen time. Vermithor, Sunfyre, and Dreamfyre were not even ridden on screen. So it is very likely that future seasons with more breathtaking dragon scenes will change viewers' preferences.
