Fresh Off Her Oscar Nod for Weapons, Amy Madigan Joins Netflix’s Next Must-Watch Horror Series
While we wait for more Aunt Gladys, anticipation is spiking—the next act promises sharper laughs, higher stakes, and a twist worth the delay.
Amy Madigan is having a moment. Whether or not she walks away with an Oscar in March 2026, her limited-but-lethal turn as Aunt Gladys in Zach Cregger's 'Weapons' basically made her a horror folk hero overnight. There has been chatter about an Aunt Gladys prequel (more on that in a minute), and now she has another creepy gig lined up.
Madigan heads to Netflix for 'All The Sinners Bleed'
Variety reports Madigan has closed a deal to guest star in Netflix's 'All The Sinners Bleed,' a new horror/noir series based on S.A. Cosby's award-winning 2023 novel. The show follows Titus Crown, a Black sheriff in a Bible Belt county, as he zeroes in on a serial killer targeting members of the Black community. The motive? An extreme, twisted brand of faith. So yeah, this one is not pulling punches.
Creative team and episode count
Joe Robert Cole is running the show. You know him as Ryan Coogler's co-writer on 'Black Panther' and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.' Cole will direct the premiere and additional episodes in the nine-episode season, so his fingerprints are all over it.
Cast lineup
- Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù leads as Sheriff Titus Crown

- Amy Madigan (guest star)
Why Madigan fits this world
Madigan doing horror is not new. Back in 1993 she co-starred with Timothy Hutton in George A. Romero's Stephen King adaptation 'The Dark Half.' More recently she turned up in the controversial thriller 'The Hunt' and in 'Antlers,' the wendigo chiller produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Scott Cooper. Add 'Weapons' to that list and you can see why she keeps getting calls for the creepy stuff.
What else she has coming up
That Aunt Gladys prequel you've heard about is on her docket. Beyond that, she has James Ponsoldt's thriller 'Sponsor' with Jason Segel and John C. Reilly, and she is part of the cast of Ed Harris's 'The Ploughmen.'
Timing and where to find the story now
As usual with Netflix, there is no premiere date yet for 'All The Sinners Bleed.' If you want to get ahead of it, S.A. Cosby's novel is out in hardcover, paperback, and audiobook. And if Madigan's 'Weapons' performance has you in the mood to revisit Aunt Gladys, the movie is streaming now on Max.
