How can it possibly get any worse?

He's done a few stunningly bizarre things throughout the first three seasons of The Boys, seemingly upping the ante every time we see him. But Antony Starr says his Homelander will do the 'most bizarre thing [he's] ever done' in the upcoming Season 4.

Fans are asking the obvious: how can he possibly top what he's done?

Homelander's pleasured himself on top of a skyscraper, looking over those he pretends to protect. He crushed a man's skull while hooking up with Stormfront. And the obsession with milk is … gross. And he's not the only one. The Herogasm episode was as graphic as it gets, and who can forget the infamous Termite scene.

Starr recently spoke to Variety and said that somehow, they were able to take it a step even further. 'There has to be a ceiling, but we can't seem to find it,' he said.

He recalled shooting a scene that left him flabbergasted: 'I was looking at the person I was opposite, and I said, 'What are we doing? I can't believe this! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this?' Starr said of the experience.

His comments came after a tweet from Stephan Fleet, the show's visual effects supervisor.

Whatever they're doing over at Amazon Prime Video, it's working. The Boys has been immensely popular among both fans and critics, praised for being the antithesis of the pure and popular superhero genre. Some say that it's a more realistic take on what power does to a person compared to the moral characters in DC and Marvel.

Its bizarre, no-hold-barred approach to violence and sex shows the disgusting gruesomeness of the Supes, while also providing comedy for the viewers - even if it can be hard to watch.

After Season 3 ended with Homelander laser-blasting a civilian in the face (to the applause of his fans), Season 4 looks to have the biggest stakes yet. This ultra-powered villain no longer cares about hiding his vileness in the dark - and that's a terrifying thought for the Boys.

Eric Kripke, The Boys' showrunner, has described the stakes as 'apocalyptic.' On top of its regular cast, the series will add Susan Heyward as Sister Sage and Valorie Curry as Firecracker, along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in an undisclosed role.

The release date of Season 4 hasn't yet been announced, though we know it's coming soon. Fans are itching to see what insane acts Starr has been alluding to.
