Fans Finally Getting That Loki Cameo They Wanted, But There's a Catch
The most croaking cameo in history.
The show dedicated to everyone's favorite God of Mischief, portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, proved to be a breath of fresh air for the MCU fandom. In a time of superhero fatigue, Loki delivered an antihero story with a fascinating take on the multiverse — because the hero's actions triggered those events, affecting time and space coordinates.
Viewers enjoyed the character development of Loki and Silvie (Sophia Di Martino), who managed to overcome selfishness and trust issues caused by childhood trauma, as well as the many variations of Loki, including President Loki and Alligator Loki. But fans are still hoping to see one other character from Asgard alongside their favorite trickster — and it looks like they are getting a scene with him, but there's a catch.
Yes, as you may have guessed, the character in question is the all-powerful Asgardian God of Thunder, Thor Odinson, played by Chris Hemsworth. As the actor has said he has no intention of leaving the MCU after Love and Thunder, it would make sense to see Thor in the story involving his half-brother — after all, their reunion after Infinity War would be incredibly poignant.
And it turns out Hemsworth's Thor is already part of the show! But no, he is not set to appear in the upcoming Season 2, as many would have hoped. The character actually showed up in Season 1, and not as a human-looking god but a frog!
The Blu-ray release of Loki is scheduled for September 26, and fans who purchase it will be able to enjoy plenty of extras, including some deleted scenes. One of them is said to feature the amphibious version of Thor, known as Throg aka Frog of Thunder.
'Mobius reviews some moments from Loki's timeline, in which Frog Thor makes an appearance during Loki's coronation,' the official description of the deleted scene says.
Actually, we already saw the frog in a jar in Episode 5, but that was more of a joke reference. On Blu-ray, however, the deleted scene will feature Throg as a full-blown character, voiced by Chris Hemsworth himself.
'There were a few extra moments in there, and that Frog of Thunder moment was one of them. I had actually written, I had done something with choir for it like it was this big, grand moment where Loki takes over the crown in Asgard, and then you see Thor as a frog,' the Loki composer Natalie Holt shared.
While waiting to see the deleted scene, fans still hope that either Thor or Throg will appear in Loki Season 2, which is scheduled for release on October 26.
