Fans Already Figured Out Stranger Things 5 Ending, and It's a Grim One
The final season may feature the death of a beloved character.
Without a doubt, Netflix's Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows on air right now, and even huge delays between season releases have done nothing to diminish the show's beloved status. The show's entire cast works like a well-oiled mechanism, with each character complementing each other perfectly and displaying some impressive chemistry along the way.
However, it looks like the upcoming final season of Stranger Things may finally make one of the fandom's biggest fears a reality – killing off one of the original characters.
A drama to come
The Duffer Brothers are notoriously secretive when it comes to spoiling upcoming seasons, but fans have been able to come up with a realistic theory without any inside information from the creators of Stranger Things.
Fans are dead certain that the upcoming season will feature the death of a prominent character, and it looks like the love triangle is to blame. Nancy and Jonathan becoming a thing was one of the most acclaimed plot twists of last season, but fans were still heartbroken about it, as Nancy's ex-boyfriend Steve is still madly in love with her.
And it feels like the writers have only one reasonable way to end this storyline - kill Steve off. While it may be heartbreaking for a lot of people, as Steve is considered the best character on Stranger Things for a reason, it's hard to deny that such an ending to the love triangle subplot is the most reasonable one.
No Deaths Necessary
However, fans are sure that Duffers can still save Steve from his possible demise, and the only way to do that is to make him fall in love with someone else. The introduction of a new female character in the final season of the show sounds like a bit of a stretch, but viewers are sure that the creators will make it work somehow.
After all, nobody wants Steve to die just to make room for Nancy and Jonathan, right?
Also, some fans are already arguing that Steve doesn't really need a new love interest to stay relevant on the show, since he's proven himself to be a compelling character in the last season without ever being seen in a romantic situation. Steve has every right to continue his journey on his own.
