Fan Theory Suggests Who Mel's Father Is After Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 Trailer

For some fans, the first part of Virgin River Season 5 was everything they had hoped for and more, while for others, it was somewhat disappointing. However, there's no denying that every viewer had an opportunity to immerse themselves in the cozy atmosphere of the small Northern California town and get a plethora of answers to questions that had been burning since the Season 4 finale last year.
We now know what transpired with Vince and who the father of Charmaine's twins is. Yet, Virgin River wouldn't be Virgin River if the new finale didn't pose more questions. The biggest of these is, who is Mel's father?
Mel's Father Storyline
In Episode 10 of the new season, many viewers were astounded to discover that Mel's mother had an affair with a man from Virgin River. According to some old letters, it was a loving relationship and even resulted in a baby - none other than Mel herself.
Now, our beloved and somewhat surprised protagonist must determine which member of Virgin River's older generation is her father. New family ties are about to be revealed!
Fortunately, as indicated by the Season 5 Part 2 trailer shared by Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine Roberts) on her Instagram, viewers won't have to wait long for the answer to the new paternal mystery. It will be revealed on November 30, when the holiday specials are released.

Unable to wait until November 30, eager fans have turned to Reddit to speculate who Mel's biological father might be. While there are several intriguing candidates, such as Buck, Charlie, Nick, or even Charmaine's father, most viewers agree that it is none other than Dr. Vernon Mullins, also known as Doc.
‘I personally hope it's Doc,’ a fan wrote on Reddit, starting a discussion. ‘I've always felt he and Mel had an interesting, almost father/daughter like bond/relationship - the way he talks to her, advises her and even is protective of her.’
Many fans in the comments echoed this sentiment, stating that Mel and Doc's relationship already seems familial. They share a passion for practicing medicine and consistently support each other in times of need. It's simply a natural fit.
Furthermore, Doc already has a history of infidelity and an illegitimate child who he recently discovered had passed away. Gaining a daughter he already knows and has a great relationship with would be a nice consolation prize for him.
