Exclusive Clip: Scott Adkins Unleashes WWII Fury in Prisoner of War, Storming Theatres and VOD Friday

Scott Adkins storms the front lines in Prisoner of War, a World War II action thriller hitting theatres and VOD this Friday—watch our exclusive clip.
Scott Adkins has a new World War II bruiser landing this week, and yes, he is very much punching his way through history again. Well Go USA is dropping 'Prisoner of War' in select theaters and on VOD this Friday, September 19, and we have an exclusive clip if you want a taste before committing.
What this one is
Adkins developed the story himself back when the movie was still called 'Death March'. Marc Clebanoff wrote the screenplay, and Louis Mandylor directed. The setup is straight-ahead: a British airman (Adkins) gets ejected from his plane, washes ashore, and is captured by a Japanese-run POW camp in the Philippines. As he awaits transfer to the Bataan Death March, the camp commander tortures him and forces him into brutal one-on-one fights against highly trained Japanese warriors. It is exactly the kind of pulpy, high-stakes premise you expect from an Adkins vehicle, just framed inside a WWII survival story. Not subtle. Not trying to be.
The players
- Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning) as the British airman
- Peter Shinkoda (I, Robot, Daredevil) as the camp commander

Inside baseball
The movie was known as 'Death March' for a chunk of its development, which makes sense given the Bataan backdrop, but it now goes by the more all-purpose 'Prisoner of War'. Distribution is through Well Go USA, who have been a reliable home for international action and indie fight cinema. Brennan Lane, the company’s director of acquisitions and production, is fully on-brand enthusiastic about this one:
'Scott's prowess as an actor and martial artist is evident in every film he touches, and this project really lets him showcase what he can do.'
Lane and Doris Pfardrescher executive produce for Well Go USA. The production side is a mix of Odyssey Motion Pictures, Brand in Motion, Myriad Entertainment Corp., and Reality RR Studios. Lead producers are Brandon Menchen (Brand in Motion) and Marc Clebanoff.
When and where to watch
'Prisoner of War' hits select theaters and VOD this Friday, September 19. If you want a preview of the tone and the fight design, the exclusive clip up top should answer that quickly. If Adkins going toe-to-toe under WWII-era pressure sounds like your thing, pencil it in.
