After recent developments (including predictions from a psychic), will the two finally end up together?

Rebecca's psychic, Tish, said that Rebecca will end up with the family she's always wanted. She then dished out three more specific predictions: Tish 'saw' a green matchbook in Rebecca's hand, uttered the words 'shite in nining armor,' and said she'd end up drenched, upside down, but okay.

Rebecca later bumped into her ex at the restaurant where she dumped him. He was called a 'shite in nining armor' by his new fiance - leaving Rebecca absolutely stunned. A second prediction came true when Sam gave Rebecca a green matchbook to commemorate his restaurant's opening.

It seems like the universe is pointing Rebecca toward a life with Sam. Moreover, if Tish nailed these two predictions, maybe she was right about Rebecca finding a family.

Higgins brought a more grounded mindset toward the whole situation. He said that, while psychics are probably liars and frauds, their true purpose comes in showing people where their true desires lie. Rebecca is looking for signs to prove Tish's predictions. She wants the signs to point to Sam.

Her feelings, and their storyline, are not yet finished. At Sam's restaurant opening, Rebecca couldn't help but look on jealously as Sam talked to a pretty young woman from the staff.

Sam even stayed in England despite an offer to pay in his home continent in Africa. Though he said she didn't factor in the decision, it seems like she must have played a part.

While sparks are flying between Rebecca and Sam on the set of Ted Lasso, fans are divided on what to think of the couple.

On Reddit, user Nemesinthe said that if the roles were reversed - if a 47-year-old male owner had a secret affair with a 21-year-old player - 'it wouldn't be a comedy.'

After all, when her older ex-husband Rupert had a child with the much younger Bex, he was seen as the bad guy.

Another Redditor came at it from a different angle, saying, 'Even an intelligent 21-year-old would lack the maturity to keep up with someone who's had +25 years of baggage, complications, and responsibilities.'

Another fan pointed out that that was the exact reason Rebecca initially pushed away from the relationship. Despite her initial fears at how the age gap would look, Rebecca 'falls for the MAN inside that young person.'.

Other fans don't have an issue with the age difference, but the fact that she owns the team he works for. That's a clear conflict of interest and would be frowned upon in any industry.

Whether or not their story concludes happily ever after, the two ending up together, remains to be seen. Fans, for the most part, are against the romance - but the show seems to be headed in that direction.
