If you've been looking for something to watch on your lonely nights, this show is a perfect choice.

Apple TV+ recently completed the miniseries Land of Women, starring Eva Longoria. The series is based on the novel of the same name by popular Spanish author and journalist Sandra Barneda.

What is Land of Women About?

Wine expert Gala has finally realized her long-held dream of opening a wine boutique in New York. But the holiday is marred by the appearance of two men who show up uninvited and report that Gala's husband owes a large sum of money to a dangerous man.

Gala withdraws all the money from her accounts and tapes it to her body under her dress. She then takes her daughter, Kate, and her mother, Julia, and flies to Julia's native Spain to the wine village of La Muga, where Julia's sister lives in the old family home.

The women of three generations meet a handsome local winemaker, Amat, who allows them to stay in the house he now owns and accepts Gala's offer to help make the local wine. Meanwhile, the New York gangsters continue to search for Gala.

Land of Women is an Ultimate Comfort Show

Land of Women is an absolute comfort watch, a series for those who want to take a break from their worries. Sometimes all we need from watching is a pinch of action and chemistry between the characters. And there's plenty of that in the show.

The framework of Land of Women is built on the best of the best adventure romcoms. Criminals trying to track down and punish a debtor with the help of his relatives, two lonely souls who can't stand each other at first, but gradually fall in love – it's all here.

Season it with family secrets and past mistakes that the characters will have to deal with, a pretty village vineyard somewhere in the wilds of northern Spain – and we have a spectacle that will definitely have you glued to the screen.

Despite its touching predictability, the series has many interesting and deep moments. One of them is the way it shows young Kate's emerging sexuality, which she tries to explore just as her grandmother did 45 years ago. Despite the fact that almost half a century has passed, many morals have not changed and women have to fight against sexism.
