Euphoria Season 4 Just Got a Major Boost — Before Season 3 Even Premieres
Euphoria returns in April 2026 with a five-year time jump that leaves high school behind—and HBO’s CEO is already teasing what comes next, offering a fresh update on Season 4 just weeks after the first trailer mapped out the characters’ new paths.
Quick update on Euphoria before Season 3 finally lands: HBO just weighed in on where things stand now, what this next chapter actually is, and whether the show might keep going after it. Short version: Season 3 is real, it is different, and Season 4 is not off the table — it just depends on Sam Levinson.
So, is Season 3 the end?
HBO CEO Casey Bloys did a round of updates about the network — talking up wins like The Pitt, Industry, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and touching on finales for Hacks, The Last of Us, and yes, Euphoria. When Deadline pressed him about chatter that Sam Levinson already has a Season 4 idea, Bloys didn’t bite on specifics. The headline is that Sam is deep in Season 3 right now, HBO’s just started watching his cuts, and they’re very happy with what they’re seeing. Any talk of a fourth season happens after he locks 3.
'He came up with an incredible way to move all of them ahead five years... it’s really exciting to see.'
'We’ve only just started watching his cuts for Season 3, and they’re great... But right now, he’s focused on finishing three and getting it out.'
'We need to find out what Sam is thinking... what he wants to do creatively either with the show, with his life. I don’t know exactly what he wants to do next... But he is in the thick of Season 3 right now.'
Translation: HBO loves the five-years-later pivot, they’re not calling Season 3 the finale, and whether the cast regroups for a potential Season 4 is a later conversation. Bloys literally would not commit on bringing everyone back until they hear what Levinson wants to do next.
What Season 3 actually is
Season 3 jumps five years past the high school drama and plants these characters in a very different phase of life. HBO dropped the first trailer last month, which tees up where each main player has landed. It’s a big tonal and setting shift — the kind of move that can either reboot a show in a good way or break it. HBO, at least, is clearly betting on the former.
When it premieres (and how it rolls out)
Euphoria Season 3 premieres Sunday, April 12, 2026. Episodes will release weekly on Sundays.

If you’re keeping score: HBO likes what they’re seeing, Season 3 moves the story five years forward and out of high school, the first trailer is already out there, and a possible Season 4 lives or dies on whatever Sam Levinson wants to do once he ships this season. More when HBO and Sam actually have that talk.
