Number 1 is about as cringet as it gets.

Riverdale was one of the cringiest shows on TV. And often (but not always) it felt like that was intentional.

Here are five of the show's cringiest moments, as ranked by Redditors:

5. The lingo

One thing that struck a nerve with many Redditors was the dialogue used in the show. From the 'contrived' 1950s lingo to phrases like 'Baby Anthony' and 'She-Wolf' and Tony's constant 'Can you dig it?', there was plenty to dislike about the way the characters spoke.

4. When Betty did the snake dance while singing Mad World

What on earth was that? Even for a teen show, this particular scene went a bit too far when it came to depicting real life. It wasn't quite soft porn - but it wasn't far off. The only thing that worked about it was the number of shocked faces in the room - which at least added a touch of normality.

3. Archie's poem

The poem itself was a bit creepy. And the look on Archie's face when the teacher read it out was exactly what you'd expect from anyone who had their work read out to them - even more so when it was 'Mr Andrews' (which was another particularly creepy way of referring to him, and one that teachers always seem to like for some reason).

2. Every 17 year old has 2-3 businesses while attending high school

A serial entrepreneur seemed like a good idea for a character. But pretty much everyone? Really? What with schoolwork, hunting a killer and just hanging out, where do they find the time to actually run a business?

And how did all the adults in town make a living with all these kids running businesses and making loads of money?

1. The tickling

Yeah, it was just weird. I mean, the whole idea of this being a big money spinner doesn't really make sense. Then there was the ease with which they seemed to introduce the idea to each other. And nobody ever seemed particularly weird about it.

And just think of the amount of money that changed hands every time a video was produced. But don't let that little plot hole detract from the fact that everything about this story was just a little bit creepy.
