Emilia Clarke Makes It Very Clear Where She Stands on Daenerys Comeback
The Game of Thrones star is tired of being asked the same question over and over again.
Among the many young actors Game of Thrones has made famous, Emilia Clarke definitely stands above the rest, as her character Daenerys was undoubtedly the beating heart of the entire series, with millions of viewers supporting her in her quest to reclaim the Iron Throne.
Too bad the writers decided to ruin her entire character arc and make her the villain of the series finale, cementing their betrayal by killing her off. Fans were justifiably angry about this, arguing that the subpar writing ruined Clarke's majestic performance.
Perhaps HBO could right that wrong by inviting the actress to reprise her role in the upcoming Jon Snow-centric spinoff?
While fans certainly like the idea, imagining Daenerys visiting Snow in his dreams or being magically resurrected herself, it looks like the actress is tired of being associated with just one role. Recently, Clarke was asked during her BBC interview if she would consider a chance to play the silver-haired princess again in the future, and her answer was quite firm.
'No, I think I'm done,' Clarke said with a laugh.
While fans are mildly disappointed with this answer, most of them are still sure that even the bad finale for Daenerys is better than trying to fix it, as the writers may end up making even more mistakes trying to resurrect her. Perhaps people should learn to accept Daenerys becoming a villain, just as Clarke has come to terms with this, despite her public disapproval of the way the writers have treated her character.
The actress is currently enjoying her post-Game of Thrones career, earning rave reviews for her turn in the romantic comedy Last Christmas as well as her heartfelt role in the National Theatre's production of The Seagull.
Recently, Clarke premiered her latest film, The Pod Generation, at Sundance and is expected to play a major role in the upcoming MCU limited series Secret Invasion.
So all in all, it looks like the fan-favorite actress doesn't really need Daenerys to stay relevant and beloved.
