Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington’s Prestige Crime Series Locks In Premiere Date
Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington lead Apple TV crime thriller Imperfect Women, debuting March 18, 2026 with a two-episode premiere; the eight-episode run concludes April 29.
Apple just circled a date for its next glossy crime series. 'Imperfect Women' pairs Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington, and the premise leans moody, messy, and grown-up in a way Apple likes to package with a spotless bow. Yes, the premiere is not until 2026. Yes, they are already telling us. That usually means they are confident.
Release plan
'Imperfect Women' premieres March 18, 2026 on Apple TV, dropping the first two episodes. The season runs eight episodes total and wraps on April 29, 2026.
What is it?
It is adapted from Araminta Hall's novel and centers on three longtime friends blindsided by a crime that upends everything they thought they knew about one another. Apple is positioning it as a twisty character piece about choices that stick to you.
"Imperfect Women examines a crime that shatters the lives of three women in a decades-long friendship," the Apple TV synopsis reads. "The unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that irrevocably alter our lives. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem."

Who is making it
Annie Weisman, who created Apple TV's 'Physical', is the creator and showrunner here. Executive producers include Moss, Washington, Araminta Hall, Lindsey McManus, Pilar Savone, and Kay Oyegun. Lesli Linka Glatter directs and produces the first episode, which is a strong, veteran choice for a pilot-style launch.
Where the leads are coming from
Moss is a TV lifer at this point: 'Mad Men' put her on the map, 'The Handmaid's Tale' sealed it. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for Season 1 of 'Handmaid's Tale', and the show wrapped its six-season run this past May.
Washington is best known for her Emmy-nominated run on 'Scandal'. On the film side, she is one of the stars of 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery', now streaming on Netflix.
Short version: starry cast, loaded themes, and Apple is staking out the Spring 2026 slot early. If you like your thrillers sharp, relationship-driven, and a little morally grimy, this one is aimed right at you.
