Elena Didn't Really Love Stefan, And This Vampire Diaries Scene Proves It
It seems that the protagonist of the series has treated one of her love interests rather cruelly.
The CW's romantic series about witches and vampires struggling with their romantic feelings while trying to save the world was a major hit for the network, as people simply adored the combination of the supernatural and good old-fashioned romantic drama.
While there was plenty of action in the series, the emphasis was always on the relationships between the characters and none were as fervent as the love triangle between Elena and the two brothers, Stefan and Damon.
Although Elena has often expressed her love for Stefan, fans have always been convinced that she does not love him one bit, and one scene fully proves this.
While Stefan tried to get a cure for Elena, working countless hours and getting no rest, Elena struggled with her feelings for him, not knowing to whom to voice her concerns.
Although Elena had many friends who could easily give her a shoulder to lean on, she chose to confide in Stefan's older brother Damon, who was desperately in love with her, as Elena herself was well aware. Fans were simply outraged by this decision, calling Elena guilty of deliberately choosing Damon for this conversation, encouraging him to start a relationship with her.
Elena seems to have lost her feelings for Stefan very soon, which made all her claims about him being the love of her life completely useless.
And that was not the only scene in which Elena showed her true feelings for Stefan – on one occasion, when Stefan lost his humanity again and his Ripper personality came to the fore, Elena practically refused to try to help him. While she could have looked for ways to stop Stefan or simply waited for him to return, Elena did not, proving once again that her feelings for Stefan were shallow and weak.
It seems that of the two brothers, Elena has always liked Damon more, as sad as that sounds to Stefan fans.
