DWTS Season 34 Just Cast Two Stars From Mormon Wives—One Gave Birth Weeks Ago

Dancing With the Stars just pulled off the most unexpected casting move of the season—and it came straight out of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
During the reunion special for the hit Hulu series, fans found out that not one, but two cast members from the show will be competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy this fall.
Jennifer Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, both known for their drama-packed storylines and viral social media presence, are officially joining the DWTS Season 34 lineup. They'll compete alongside previously announced contestants Robert Irwin and Alix Earle.
And here's the kicker: Affleck gave birth just a few weeks ago.
During the reunion taping, Affleck was visibly pregnant with her third child. On June 27, she revealed she actually went into labor while getting her nails done—giving her only about two months to recover before rehearsals begin.
"I cannot tell you how excited I am," she said, wiping away tears after the announcement. According to reunion host Nick Viall, "most" of the Mormon Wives cast auditioned for DWTS while filming Season 3, but it was clear that Affleck and Leavitt "wanted it the most."
Leavitt initially reacted with full support for Affleck: "Obviously, I'm happy for Jen," she said, adding she'd be cheering her on from the front row. Then came the twist—Viall revealed that Leavitt had also been cast. She ran into her husband's arms, and both women screamed and jumped up and down. "I hope you know you're going down," Affleck joked.
So far, here's what we know about Season 34:
- Contestants confirmed: Jennifer Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, Robert Irwin, Alix Earle
- Hosts: Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro (returning)
- Judges: Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli (also returning)
- Premiere date: Not officially announced, but ABC has confirmed the show will air Tuesdays from 8–10 p.m. — with a likely mid-September start
Streaming and broadcast: ABC and Disney+
Affleck and Leavitt's professional dance partners haven't been announced yet, and several more celebrity contestants are expected to be revealed later this summer.
As for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, its reunion special capped off a 10-episode second season. Hulu previously ordered 20 episodes total, meaning 10 more episodes are still coming, though no airdate has been announced.
Season 34 will have a tough act to follow. Season 33 saw Bachelor star Joey Graziadei take home the trophy, and the ballroom wasn't short on off-screen sparks either—Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber started a relationship during the show, while Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko briefly reunited after elimination. No word yet on whether Season 34 will bring similar drama, but with two Mormon Wives stars in the mix, nobody's ruling it out.
