But it's only a matter of time.

Artem and Charity have consistently scored well on Dancing with the Stars so far, but fans of the show are not really on board with the couple.

So, why are positive scores and judges comments not translating into fan opinion?

In general, fans don't seem to have any major problem with the pair that might threaten their position in the show should they slip up and face the public vote some time soon. But there does seem to be a general malaise about the way in which they've performed so far for several reasons:

Technique over entertainment

One of the main problems with the couple is Artem's preference for technique over entertainment. This isn't new. He's always been one to focus on getting the technical details of dances spot on.

In many ways, he's a traditionalist who trusts that, if the dance is done well, the judges will love it. That's proving true. The judges have had nothing but praise for the pair so far.

But that is something of a problem for an entertainment show. Yes, it's a competition and we all like to think we know a bit about dancing and can talk like the judges. But many of the more technical aspects are for the panel to comment on. For viewers, entertainment is the name of the game.

It needs more 'welly'

What fans really seem to want from Artem and Charity is more 'welly'. And while that might be a term with no real definition, it pretty much translates into an increase in flair and emotion in their performances.

Of course, that's all on Artem. His role as pro dancer is to push Charity more and tease out the extra oomph without it having a negative impact on the technical content of their dances.

One of the issues here is that Artem is not one for gimmicks and showboating. A few distractions might take the focus off of Charity who still looks quite reserved and uncertain when performing. While other couples embrace the various effects that add to the spectacle, Artem's authentic approach to his art is holding them back to some degree right now.

The judges could do more

Blaming the judges for a poor performance is more of an X-Factor trope and hasn't really been a feature of Dancing with the Stars. But in the case of Artem and Charity, you do wonder whether more constructive feedback from the judges would help the couple.

Praise is all well and good, but if they're not scoring 10s, there are clearly improvements that can be made. Not only would these types of comments help the couple understand what the judges are looking for, but it would also help increase Charity's confidence in her ability.

There's more to come

This is a couple that boasts plenty of potential. As Charity settles into the competition, grows in confidence and becomes more comfortable with what must at first feel like an overwhelming number of moves to learn, things may well change. It's likely that, right now, Artem is putting in the groundwork in the hope that Charity will later bring the pizzazz.
