HBO's crime miniseries 'Task' keeps tightening the screws, and Episode 4 is pulling up right on schedule. If you need the when/where plus what the episode is actually doing story-wise, here you go.

When Episode 4 drops

Episode 4, titled 'All Roads,' premieres Sunday, September 28, 2025. It goes live at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.

  • Eastern Time: Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 9:00 p.m.
  • Pacific Time: Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

What 'All Roads' is about

This one looks tense. Tom is gearing up for a major operation, but the big wrinkle is internal: he starts to question whether his own task force has his back. Meanwhile, Robbie and Cliff set a meet in a park (always a great sign), Perry goes digging for intel on the Dark Hearts gang, and Maeve is not buying Robbie's grand plan for getting out. If the show has taught us anything so far, it's that exit plans in Philly never stay clean for long.

Where to watch

You can watch Episode 4 on HBO and on the streamer under the HBO umbrella. It's available on HBO and HBO Max/Max. HBO is the premium cable network operated by Home Box Office, Inc., which sits under Warner Bros. Discovery. Max (formerly known as HBO Max in many places) is Warner Bros. Discovery's subscription streaming service.

Who is behind 'Task'

'Task' is a crime-drama miniseries from Brad Ingelsby and stars Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey. The supporting bench is strong too: Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Raúl Castillo, and Jamie McShane all factor in. The premise leans pulpy in the best way: Tom Brandis is a Catholic priest turned FBI agent chasing a string of robberies led by family man Robbie Prendergrast. Yes, priest-turned-fed is a wild character detail, and the show leans into it.

The official series logline

"In the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent heads a task force assembled to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man."
