Don't Expect Joe Hill to Return as in Blue Bloods Season 13 Finale
The time has come to make Joe Hill one of the main characters, fans believe.
Blue Bloods Season 13 is coming to a close. On May 19, fans will join the Reagan family for Sunday dinner for the last time before the long hiatus.
In the episode titled 'Forgive Us Our Trespasses,' Donnie Wahlberg's Danny Reagan and Marisa Ramirez's Maria Baez will work with Danny's old partner to solve a series of murders mirroring their former case.
Frank Reagan, portrayed by Tom Selleck, will clash with Mayor Chase over the best way to deal with the troubling issue of New York City's enormous homeless population. With these storylines, the episode looks to be compelling. However, fans feel that one character is missing for it to be perfect — unfortunately, Joe Hill will not appear in the finale.
Joe Hill, played by Will Hochman, was a surprising but pleasant addition to Blue Bloods. After his first appearance in Season 10, the NYPD detective was revealed to be the son of the late Joe Reagan, who had been killed before the events of the show began. His storyline was intriguing and the character felt well-developed, so fans quickly fell for him.
The young detective has been more of a recurring character thus far, only appearing in a few episodes per season. In the current Season 13, he was only seen in four episodes, with Episode 13 'Past History' being his last so far. Such a situation doesn't sit well with Blue Bloods fans who love the character and wish he had more screen time.
'I love [Joe Hill]. He only gets 4-5 episodes per season, which stinks,' a fan wrote on Reddit. 'They need young blood, and he's not only in the family, but he's in the family business.'
The fan consensus seems to be that Will Hochman's Joe Hill needs to join the main cast to shake up the show. Fortunately, Blue Bloods has been renewed for Season 14, and there is hope that the creators will listen to the fans and increase Joe's presence in the upcoming episodes of the new chapter, which is set to premiere this fall.
