We finally have a real price tag for Disney's 2025 Snow White remake, and it is a whopper. The movie earned more than $200 million worldwide, but the new accounting makes clear why that run was never going to save it.

Newly filed company accounts peg Snow White's production cost at about $336.5 million, a lot higher than the roughly $270 million figure that had been floating around earlier. Those filings cover the year ending December 31, 2024 — less than three months before the film hit theaters — so they offer a near-complete snapshot of what it cost to make.

For perspective, that spend reportedly tops the budgets of Rogue One, the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, and the live-action Beauty and the Beast — the last of which pulled in $1.3 billion back in 2017. Big company. Big number.

Box office reality

Snow White cleared more than $200 million globally. On paper, that is not nothing. Against a $336.5 million production tab, though, it falls short of projections and does not cover the outlay theatrically — especially once you factor in the usual exhibitor cuts and marketing. The math is the math.
