In a decade packed with expensive misfires, this one sits comfortably — or uncomfortably — at the top of the bomb list.

When Snow White limped into theaters with a $270 million budget and barely cleared $205 million at the global box office, it seemed like Disney had officially secured the decade's biggest financial disaster. But no — that title still belongs to Marvel's own The Marvels.

Snow White (2025)

  • Production Budget: ~$270 million
  • Box Office Gross: ~$205 million worldwide
  • Estimated Loss: ~$115 million

Despite being one of Disney's most expensive films ever, Snow White never even reached its production cost in ticket sales. Industry insiders projected a final loss of around $115 million, even after accounting for streaming and post-theatrical revenue. That makes it a major flop — just not the biggest.

The Flash (2023)

  • Production Budget: ~$200–220 million
  • Box Office Gross: $271.4 million worldwide
  • Estimated Loss: ~$155 million

Warner Bros. managed to sell a decent number of tickets, but the film's huge marketing spend and lack of legs made The Flash one of the most expensive superhero misfires ever. It barely covered its production cost and missed breakeven by a wide margin. Final estimates from Deadline pegged the loss at around $155 million.

The Marvels (2023)

  • Production Budget: ~$270 million
  • Box Office Gross: ~$206 million worldwide
  • Estimated Loss: ~$237 million

This one didn't just underperform — it cratered. According to Deadline's annual "Most Valuable Blockbuster" breakdown, The Marvels posted a staggering $237 million loss, topping both The Flash and Snow White by a long shot. Despite being a sequel to Captain Marvel, a billion-dollar hit, it arrived with little hype, lukewarm reviews, and collapsed almost instantly at the box office.

All three films were major failures — bloated budgets, weak legs, and terrible returns. But The Marvels isn't just the biggest flop of Marvel's post-Endgame era. It's the biggest box office bomb of the decade, full stop.

And unless someone manages to spend $300 million on a Tron 3 no one asked for, it's probably going to stay that way.
