Bluey reigns for a second straight year as 2025’s most-streamed TV show on Disney+, while Netflix claims the year’s most-streamed movie crown, according to Variety’s latest tally.

Here we go again: Disney and Netflix split the trophy case for 2025 streaming, with the year’s most-watched TV show on Disney+ and the most-watched movie on Netflix. The numbers (from Nielsen, via Variety) are big, a little absurd, and very on brand for what people actually stream.

TV: Bluey keeps the crown

For the second year running, Bluey is the most-streamed TV show of the year. Nielsen says viewers racked up 45 billion minutes with the Heeler family in 2025. That’s wild on its own, but it’s even more impressive when you remember most episodes are around 10 minutes. Do the math and you start to see just how bottomless kids’ rewatch energy really is.

Quick refresher: Bluey launched in 2018 on ABC Kids in Australia and follows a six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy, her sister Bingo, and their parents through everyday adventures that somehow hit kids and adults equally hard. It’s now one of the biggest children’s shows ever, with a tidal wave of merch, a stage show, and a feature film set for 2027. If you want it all in one place, the full series is streaming on Disney+.

Movie: KPop Demon Hunters steamrolls Netflix

On the film side, Netflix took the top spot with KPop Demon Hunters, which dominated 2025. Per the same Nielsen data, the movie logged 20.5 billion minutes watched in the U.S. alone, which means the global total is almost certainly even more eye-popping.

Released in June 2025, the animated feature comes from directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and stars Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun. The hook: a K-pop girl group, Huntr/x, secretly doubles as demon hunters, using their music as a weapon. Yes, it’s exactly the high-concept swing it sounds like, and yes, it worked.

Since launch, KPop Demon Hunters has become the most-watched original title in Netflix history. The soundtrack blew up too, going Platinum with the RIAA and becoming the first soundtrack to land four songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 at the same time. Awards-wise, the film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Animated, and the song "Golden" took home Best Original Song.

Bottom line: Bluey is still the undefeated champ of kid-fueled binge cycles, and Netflix found a four-quadrant juggernaut in a demon-slaying K-pop fantasy. 2025 streaming in a nutshell.
