With Deadpool & Wolverine fresh in 2024, controversial alum TJ Miller says Ryan Reynolds has a sharp plan for Deadpool 4 and hints he might return—even though Marvel hasn’t greenlit the sequel yet.

Deadpool 4 still is not a thing Marvel has stamped and dated, but the conversation around it refuses to die. Now T.J. Miller is nudging the door open a crack, teasing that Ryan Reynolds already has a sharp idea loaded and ready if and when the studio pulls the trigger.

Where things stand

Marvel rolled out Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024 with Shawn Levy directing and Reynolds back in the suit as Wade Wilson. That movie is now streaming on Disney+. A fourth film has not been officially announced, but behind-the-scenes chatter says the gears are turning.

Miller pops back up

Miller, who played Weasel in the first two Deadpool movies and did not appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, has largely been off the radar the last few years. He faced multiple controversies, including a sexual assault allegation and an arrest tied to a fake bomb threat. Outside of that, his most recent notable credit was voicing Randy on the animated sitcom F Is for Family in 2021.

So... Weasel in Deadpool 4?

In a recent Detroit radio interview, Miller was asked if Weasel showing up in a potential Deadpool 4 is still possible or if that ship has finally sailed.

"It has not sailed... And that's all I'm going to say about that. Marvel gets so weird about this stuff. They're just like, don't talk about it, don't talk about it."

He did not go further on casting specifics, but he did praise Reynolds' plan for what comes next.

"His idea for the next Deadpool film is really good. It's really smart... I got hair on the back of my neck standing up."

"I didn't think you could do something that's even more different than Deadpool & Wolverine."

According to Miller, the concept is 'in the chamber,' though timing could be fuzzy given Reynolds has other projects in motion. He also doubled down on his long-running stance that Reynolds is, simply, the funniest.

The practical stuff

  • Deadpool 4 is not officially announced; no release date exists.
  • Ryan Reynolds reportedly has a fully formed idea ready to go.
  • T.J. Miller says Weasel is not out of the question, but he is keeping specifics quiet.
  • Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), directed by Shawn Levy, is streaming on Disney+.

Translation: nobody is ready to say anything on the record, but everyone is ready to tease. Classic Marvel-adjacent limbo.
