Channing Tatum cranks the hype for Avengers: Doomsday, promising a brain‑melter — and if Blade’s entrance in Deadpool & Wolverine blew the roof off, that was just the warm‑up.

Channing Tatum is doing the Marvel equivalent of pulling the fire alarm and yelling everyone get in here. In a new ET Online chat, the Deadpool & Wolverine standout is revving up hype for Avengers: Doomsday, and it sounds like Marvel is aiming for the kind of opening-night pandemonium we only get a few times a decade.

"You’re just not ready. It’s gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears... like when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, people are going to physically lose their actual minds. It’s that but maybe times 50."

Why Tatum is this hyped

If you somehow missed it, Deadpool & Wolverine dropped a full-throttle cameo grenade: Wesley Snipes slid back in as Blade and the theaters collectively levitated. On top of that, Channing Tatum finally got to suit up as Gambit — the Marvel role he chased for years — and he’s not done. He says he’ll be back as the card-slinging mutant in Avengers: Doomsday, which is exactly the kind of multiverse mash-up where Doctor Doom crashes the party and every hero you’ve ever argued about on Reddit has a shot at showing up.

What he says about the script

Tatum also talked about reading the Doomsday script and basically wondering how any of this is even possible on a production level. His gist: Marvel keeps upping its own bar, then somehow pole-vaulting over it again. The Russo Brothers are back directing this one, which tracks with the studio calling their biggest plays when they want the lights-out, crowd-pleaser version of an Avengers movie.

Quick facts, all in one place

  • Producers: Kevin Feige, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
  • Cast (so far): Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Robert Downey Jr.

  • Heroes not officially cast (yet): Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Wolverine, Deadpool, Star-Lord, The Marvels, The Young Avengers, Blade.
  • Cameo potential: Expect surprise appearances. Alan Cumming is back as Nightcrawler and, in an ET interview, teased that Halle Berry might return as Sue Storm. Yes, that phrasing is odd considering Berry famously played Storm, not Sue Storm — welcome to the multiverse rumor mill. There’s also chatter about pulling in characters from other media, like Miles Morales from the Spider-Verse films or even someone from Marvel Rivals.
  • U.S. release date: December 18, 2026

The bigger picture: Marvel knows how to stage a stampede

Avengers movies are engineered for communal chaos. Remember Endgame opening night? The theater meltdowns over Iron Man’s final line, Cap swinging Mjolnir, Scarlet Witch nearly peeling Thanos like an orange — that’s the template. If Doomsday is the Russo Brothers returning to that playbook with an even bigger multiversal roster, expect the kind of you-had-to-be-there reactions that bounce around online forever.

Bottom line: if Deadpool & Wolverine was the appetizer with Blade and Gambit stealing the room for a minute, Avengers: Doomsday sounds like the full buffet — and Tatum is telling us to show up hungry.

Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026.
