Day-One Cheaters Are Already Ruining Call of Duty Black Ops 7's Early Access Beta

Players say they’ve found the real reason Call of Duty is declining — and it could be the franchise’s tipping point.
If you hopped into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta and thought you were imagining things, you weren’t. The test just kicked off and people are already posting clips of blatant cheating. Because of course they are.
Where the beta is at
- Early access went live October 2, 2025 for players who pre-ordered.
- The open beta starts Sunday and runs a few days before wrapping next week.
- Treyarch has security switched on from the jump: Black Ops 7 Secure Boot plus Activision’s Ricochet Anti-Cheat are both in the build.
Clips, callouts, and a quick ban
Players didn’t need long to spot trouble. Within hours of the doors opening, social feeds and forums were full of videos showing suspicious kills. One of the most-circulated posts came from streamer Stodeh on October 2, who dropped a clip and sounded pretty over it already:
"This can’t be happening in Black Ops 7 ALREADY."
"Bro, is this guy cheating in hour three of beta lmao"
In the replies to that thread, developers said the player in question was "banned." So at least one hammer fell fast.
What people are seeing
It’s not just one-off aim that looks a little too crispy. Another player posted, "First game on beta, and someone is already cheating," with a video to go with it, tagging Treyarch. A separate viral clip shows what looks like classic wall hacks — the player tracks enemies through surfaces and snaps around the map like they’ve got a private minimap no one else can see. If you’re wondering, yes, it makes normal aim assist look like child’s play.
The mood, in a word: salty
Reactions range from resigned to roast-y. One comment calls it "The real reason CoD is declining." Another jokes that Ricochet is "on vacation." That last one stings, because the inside-baseball pitch here was a more locked-down experience thanks to Secure Boot and Ricochet working in tandem. Having rage hackers show up hours into day one doesn’t exactly sell that narrative.
To be fair, betas are basically stress tests in the wild — you’re gonna see exploits flare up. But given how loudly CoD talked up its defenses this time, the timing is rough. If you’re jumping in this weekend, keep your reporting tools handy — and maybe your expectations in check.
