Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio Hints Whether Kingpin Joins Spider-Man 4

So, is Kingpin in Spider-Man 4?
D'Onofrio says Kingpin sits out Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On a recent TV podcast, he spelled out why the wall-crawler and the crime lord are not sharing the big screen yet.
"I think I'll just wait until they have the rights to my character and they put me in one of those movies, and then I'll figure it all out."
Given Kingpin started as a Spider-Man villain in the comics and has a long, messy history with Peter Parker, the team-up feels obvious. The business side is less friendly.
The rights roadblock
This is not a new thing. D'Onofrio has talked before about the red tape around Fisk on film.
"The only thing I know is not positive. It's a very hard thing to do, to use my character — for Marvel to use my character. It's a very hard thing to do because of ownership. I think, right now, I'm only usable for television series. That kind of a thing. Different kinds of series, whatever it is, but not even like a one-off Fisk movie or anything like that. It's all caught up in rights and stuff right now. I don't know when that would work out, or if it'll ever work out at all, actually."
Translation: the rights tangle is messy, and for the moment Fisk lives on TV.
