Dan Da Dan Season 3 Release Window Finally Revealed — And Fans Won’t Like It
Netflix has locked in a release window for Dan Da Dan Season 3, and it’s later than fans hoped. After an acclaimed second season in July 2025, the hit adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga won’t be back anytime soon.
If you were hoping to spend 2026 with Momo and Okarun, I have bad news. Dan Da Dan is coming back for Season 3, but not until 2027.
The hit anime based on Yukinobu Tatsu's manga debuted in October 2024, with Season 2 landing in July 2025 and pulling in strong reviews. Netflix carries the show, and now the official word is that Season 3 is a longer wait.
The announcement dropped on December 21, 2025 via the anime's account on X (formerly Twitter) and was echoed at Jump Festa 2026, alongside a new teaser poster showing Momo, Okarun, Turbo Granny, and a very memorable new visual: a girl literally 'wearing' a space monster.
'Dan Da Dan Season 3. Broadcast set for 2027. Teaser visual revealed. Momo, Okarun, Turbo Granny and... a beautiful girl "wearing" a space monster.'
Why the extra year?
This is one of those production realities that quietly explains a lot. Per AnimeMojo, Seasons 1 and 2 were produced together and later split for release, which is why the gap between them was just a year. Season 3, however, is being built from the ground up as a brand-new production.
On top of that, Science SARU, the studio behind the anime, has a packed 2026 slate, including a new Ghost in the Shell series and a Sanda anime adaptation. That schedule does not exactly scream quick turnaround.
There is also the matter of scope. Season 3 will adapt the Space Globalists Arc, the manga's longest storyline, clocking in at around 50 chapters. For comparison, the first two seasons combined covered about 35 chapters. Bigger arc, bigger lift.
Timeline at a glance
- October 2024: Season 1 premieres
- July 2025: Season 2 drops and earns critical praise
- December 21, 2025: Official X post and Jump Festa 2026 confirm Season 3, reveal teaser visual, and set a 2027 broadcast window
- 2027: Season 3 arrives (not in 2026)
So yeah, it is a longer wait. The upside is that the team is taking the time to tackle the manga's biggest arc properly. If the first two seasons are any indication, the payoff should be worth the patience.
