Daez Finally Happening? Donnie Wahlberg Teases Blue Bloods Season 13 Finale
It just seems like Blue Bloods keeps getting better and better with each season.
The current 13th season has continued to generate strong viewership along with stellar reviews.
As a result, there are many storylines that fans would like to watch evolve or transpire on the show, including the emerging romance between Danny and Baez.
Detective Danny Reg (Donnie Wahlberg) and Marie Baez (Marisa Ramirez) have been long-time police partners. The duo is notorious for getting work done and solving crimes. However, they have also developed a chemistry that is beginning to take effect away from the precinct.
Donnie Wahlberg, who recently sat down with TV Insider, revealed that Dannie will continue to bond with Baez over the remaining episodes of season 13 of Blue Bloods. In fact, the 53-year-old had several spicy details regarding the budding romance.
Wahlberg confirmed that many of the remaining episodes will explore the romance and catch viewers by “surprise.” The actor noted that he was even shocked when reading over the scripts for season 13.
“It certainly opens the door for Danny and Baez,” Wahlberg dished to TV Insider. “All I know is that [the characters] will bond at much deeper levels than they ever had [together].”
Wahlberg, who maintains a strong friendship with Maria Ramirez off-screen, indicated that crossing the chemistry over to television has not been an issue for the actors. Thus, it has helped ease the transition for the character, Danny, who is still recovering from losing his wife, Linda, of 20 years. For this reason, exploring dating again with Baez has seemed like a natural progression for the detectives.
And, if that wasn’t enough, Wahlberg also hinted that the romance will really reach a climax by the conclusion of this season. Wahlberg teased the upcoming season 13 finale of Blue Bloods, in which he forecasted the two characters getting caught in an extremely vulnerable position.
The actor added that the upcoming May season finale is really “intense for the partners” and may involve Baez and Danny getting intimate for the first time since working together.
It’s an intriguing teaser that will definitely have fans chomping for new episodes of Blue Bloods. While not everyone is a fan of the idea of Danny and Baez hooking up, it certainly seems inevitable, given the show seems intent on turning them into canon. Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck, airs Fridays on CBS.
