Countdown to October 10: 5 Battlefield 6 Weapons You Need to Try First

The countdown is on—Battlefield 6 is nearly here, and EA says it’s bringing back the franchise’s glory with a brand-new campaign, classic modes, jets screaming overhead, and an arsenal built for chaos.
Battlefield 6 is basically at the door. EA is pitching this one as a return to form: a brand-new campaign, classic modes back in rotation, jets screaming overhead, and a fat pile of guns. At launch on October 10, there will be 45 weapons to mess with. After some quality time in the beta, five of them stuck out so hard I’m already planning my loadouts.
Five guns from the beta I’m absolutely locking in at launch
-
NVO-228E (Assault Rifle)
The NVO-228E was the crowd-pleaser in testing for a reason. It’s wildly flexible, with a fire rate that chews through targets and damage that holds up both up close and into mid-range. Any rough edges? Tinker with attachments and they mostly vanish. If EA leaves its numbers alone between now and release, this thing is a top-tier pick.
-
SG 553R (Carbine)
If your playstyle is rush-first, ask-questions-later, the SG 553R hits the sweet spot. In the beta it dealt 33 damage per shot and could three-shot at mid-range, with what felt like the fastest TTK potential in the entire build. Just know it falls off beyond mid-range, so don’t try to snipe rooftops with it.
-
KV9 (SMG)
Inspired by the KRISS Vector, the KV9 is a pocket buzzsaw: 1,080 rounds per minute and a four-shot kill potential. In tight spaces it’s absurd. The catch is a small magazine, so you need to pick your moments. It’s so strong in close quarters that I would not be shocked if it eats a nerf not long after launch.
-
M240L (LMG)
LMGs are going to split the playerbase, but set up the M240L correctly and it’s mean. It works for both hold-the-line defense and push-forward aggression, with a surprisingly decent fire rate for a three-shot kill weapon. It’s billed as a mid-range all-rounder, but I think it really comes alive when you bully people up close.
-
M2010 ESR (Sniper Rifle)
The sniper to beat on day one, most likely. The M2010 ESR is a reliable one-shot headshot machine and even has a sweet spot where body shots drop targets in a single hit. Add the fastest rate of fire in its class and you’ve got a long-range bully that should set the early meta.
That’s just five out of 45 at launch, but they were the standouts in the beta. If the stats ship as-is on October 10, expect to see these everywhere. Which one are you grabbing first?
