Bridgerton is reportedly getting a Marvel twist as Arthur Lee — the Korean train passenger from Avengers: Age of Ultron — turns up in the new season, linking Netflix’s Regency romp to the MCU with a surprise cameo.

Well, this is a fun wrinkle: Bridgerton might be borrowing a face from the Marvel bench. Not one of the capes, to be clear, but a blink-and-you-miss-it passenger from Avengers: Age of Ultron who is now reportedly stepping into a much bigger corset-and-candles role.

The MCU-to-bridges move, explained

Arthur Lee, who popped up as a Korean train passenger in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, is reportedly joining Bridgerton Season 4 as Lord Richard Gun, the Earl of Penwood. That makes him the father of Sophie Baek, who is the season's female lead and Benedict Bridgerton's love interest. Lee would slot into the Penwood family alongside Katie Leung, Yerin Ha, Michelle Mao, and Isabella Wei. Netflix has not officially confirmed Lee's casting yet, so consider this solidly in the reported-but-not-locked column.

Wait, Lord Gun? What changed from the books

Season 4 adapts the third Bridgerton novel, An Offer From a Gentleman. On the page, Sophie is the daughter of Richard Gunningworth and one of his maids, a relationship he kept secret. After Sophie's maternal grandmother leaves her at his doorstep, he lets Sophie remain at Penwood Park. The show keeps the character and his deal but tweaks the surname from Gunningworth to Gun to reflect the family's Korean heritage in the series.

Who is Arthur Lee

Lee is a British stage and screen actor of Korean descent, born in Westminster, London. His exact age isn't publicly verified. He split his childhood between London and Seoul, studied at University College London, and made his international screen debut in the action series Strike Back.

Why this casting is interesting

Beyond the cute Marvel connection, the Penwood setup is a meaningful piece of Season 4. If the series sticks close to the book's bones, Lord Gun's choices are a big part of how Sophie's story intersects with Benedict's. The heritage change is also a notable tweak that signals how the show is folding new cultural backgrounds into its existing canon without throwing out the source material's structure.

When do we see it

Bridgerton Season 4 is scheduled to hit Netflix on January 29, 2026. If the Lord Gun casting becomes official, expect Netflix to make some noise about the full Penwood lineup sooner rather than later.
