Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD 2023 Finale Dates, Release Schedule
The three season-closing episodes will air back-to-back.
The NBC Chicago franchise went through some difficulties recently, with tough renewal negotiations and the network eventually agreeing to renew its major shows, albeit with budget cuts stipulated.
While Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD all go on with their current seasons, their episode release schedules remained unclear for a while.
Fortunately, we now got the dates confirmed, and all Chicago shows are expected to release new episodes in May. What's more, all three series' finales are going to air on the same day — Wednesday May 24, 2023.
As you most likely know, the Chicago franchise series tend to pack their final episodes with all the best drama and action, so the characters are going to face major changes and go through deadly perils. But the build-up for a truly impressive finale takes time — and it's going to occur throughout May, starting on May 3. So whether you're a devoted fan or a casual viewer, now is the worst time to miss any episodes.
The last episodes will be aired on May 24, and here is the release time for the finale night for all three series (Eastern and Central time zones):
- Chicago Med Season 8 finale – 8/7 p.m.
- Chicago Fire Season 11 finale – 9/8 p.m.
- Chicago PD Season 10 finale – 10/9 p.m.
After this, the shows will go on a summer hiatus. Thankfully, we have been assured that all three will return to screens this fall, making fans excited for the continuation of their beloved stories. Let's finish up with a few words on what to expect from the series' concluding episodes on May 24.
Judging by the synopsis available, Chicago Fire's Kidd will get a new lead on the Homeland Security case, and a seemingly psychic character will appear to issue a dire warning. Chicago Med will show the future of OR 2.0 imperiled and Archer going rogue for the sake of a patient. In Chicago PD, as Richard Beck's deadly attack grows closer, Ruzek and the team will do their best to avert the tragedy.
And, of course, however the outcomes of the more immediate conflicts will be, all finales are likely to end on big cliffhangers, which also has been the franchise's tradition.
The run-ups to the climactic finale episodes begin on May 3, 2023, for all three shows.
