Looks like everyone missed an Easter egg.

It's hard to imagine, but after three years as the greatest comedy show on the planet, Ted Lasso is already over, with Jason Sudeikis refusing to play the beloved coach any longer. There is no doubt, however, that the hit series' legacy will live on, thanks to its therapeutic messages, the cast's heartfelt performances, and the great jokes that littered every single episode.

But besides these things, Ted Lasso is probably best known for wearing its influences right on his sleeve, and one insane Easter egg in the finale is the most striking proof of that.

Like Ted Lasso, Cheers was one of the most popular comedy shows of its time, and the story of the workers and patrons of a Boston bar is still watched and re-watched by millions. And since both series have been described as cozy and heartwarming, Ted Lasso creators had no choice but to leave a nod to the older show in the finale.

Just before the credits rolled in the last episode, fans were welcomed back to The Crown & Anchor, the Richmond tavern where much of the action took place during the three seasons. The pub's bartender, Mae, was seen straightening the picture hanging above the bar — and that's a clear reference to a famous scene from the Cheers finale.

Here's what Ted Lasso director Declan Lowney said about the amusing reference:

'So, in the bar in Cheers, there is a portrait on the wall. I think it might be Geronimo. I don't know, but it's on the wall in the back, it's always been there in Cheers for all of their 13 seasons or whatever. And in the very last episode when Ted Danson is leaving, he walks around the bar and looks over the picture and sees it looks a bit crooked, and he just straightens it, and walks out. And in our bar in Richmond, the same picture has been on the wall,' the director said.

Moreover, Jason Sudeikis' uncle is actually George Wendt, one of the main actors from the original cast of Cheers. So it turns out the director not only referenced one of the most important comedy shows of all time, but also paid homage to Sudeikis' close relative.
