Charlie Sheen’s Divorce From Brooke Mueller: The Real Amount He Still Owes Her
Charlie Sheen is facing fresh fire from ex-wife Brooke Mueller, who alleges he’s shorted her for years on the $660,000-a-year child support set in their divorce, as the parents of twin sons reignite a bitter post-split battle.
Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller are back in court, and the numbers Brooke is throwing down are massive. She says Sheen has been shorting child support for years, and now she wants a judge to put an exact price tag on the damage.
What Mueller says Sheen owes
In a new motion filed on December 4, Mueller asks the court to schedule a hearing and tally up how much back child support Sheen owes under their divorce deal, which set support at $660,000 a year. She also wants the arrears paid, plus an extra $25,000 toward her legal fees, within 30 days of the court order.
Her claim covers March 1, 2011 through December 2, 2025. Her math: $8,967,600 in unpaid support, $6,418,643 in interest, for a grand total of $15,386,000. Yes, that total is as jaw-dropping as it looks.
Mueller's timeline of payments
Mueller says Sheen made full payments through June 2011. After that, it was sporadic at best. Here is her breakdown of what he actually paid versus what was due:
- 2011: Paid $295,000; roughly $550,000 was due for the 10 months starting March 1
- 2012–2015: No payments; about $660,000 was due each year
- 2016: Paid $96,000
- 2017: Paid $228,366
- 2018: Paid $113,000
- 2019–2022: No payments
- 2023: Paid $20,000
- 2024: Paid $30,000
- 2025 (so far): Paid $39,000
"Charlie made full child support payments through June 2011. Beginning in July 2011, he made either partial payments or failed to make any payments."
Where custody stands
Their custody setup, based on documents filed in 2024, is a little more complicated. They share legal custody of their twin sons, Bob and Max (now 16), but that stays in place only if Mueller remains sober. The kids' primary residence is with Sheen. Mueller is supposed to have reasonable and flexible time with the boys, with an emphasis on frequent contact with both parents.
If Mueller relapses or tests positive for drugs or alcohol, Sheen gets sole custody unless and until a court says otherwise (or they both agree in writing). That change can happen on as little as 48 hours' notice.
A little history
Sheen and Mueller were married from 2008 to 2011 and welcomed their twins in March 2009. Years later, she appeared in Sheen's Netflix documentary 'aka Charlie Sheen' and credited him with stepping up during her roughest stretch with substance abuse, calling him a responsible protector for their boys. The documentary skipped over one earlier flashpoint: after an incident in Aspen, Mueller said Sheen threatened her with a knife. He did not discuss that arrest in the doc; he was sentenced to 30 days in a drug rehab program, 30 days of probation, and 36 hours of anger management.
Where this goes next
As of now, Sheen has not publicly responded to Mueller's new filing. If the court sets a hearing, expect the exact accounting to get picked apart line by line. I will update when there is movement.
