Channing Tatum Learns His Lesson on Avengers Talk — And Finally Addresses Doomsday
Pressed on Chris Evans’ Avengers: Doomsday comeback, Channing Tatum grinned, cracked a joke, and clammed up—he’s learned his lesson on MCU chatter.
Channing Tatum just got asked about Chris Evans popping back up in the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday, and he gave the kind of answer Marvel trains into you: funny, noncommittal, and basically nothing at all.
Tatum vs. the Marvel Secrecy Machine
In a new E! News chat, Tatum was pressed on Evans appearing in the first Avengers: Doomsday teaser and what that might mean for Steve Rogers. His response was pure 'I know nothing, please don’t kidnap me.'
'I don't know what you're talking about. That's my answer. If I say anything other than, 'I don't know what you're talking about,' there's somebody that will black bag me and throw me in a car. I've learned my lesson. I don't say anything.'
Translation: yes, he saw the internet. No, he is not getting tackled by a Marvel publicist today. For what it’s worth, the teaser does show Chris Evans, which very strongly hints Steve Rogers is back in play. But officially, everyone is pretending they have never heard of Captain America.
So who is actually in Avengers: Doomsday?
Short answer: a small convention’s worth of superheroes and then some. Here’s who Marvel has lined up (plus who shows up in that teaser):
- Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America (teased in the first trailer)
- Chris Hemsworth as Thor
- Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards
- Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman
- Anthony Mackie as Captain America
- Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier
- Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther
- Paul Rudd as Ant-Man
- Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent
- Tenoch Huerta as Namor
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing
- Simu Liu as Shang-Chi
- Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova
- Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast
- Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry
- Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon
- Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch
- David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian
- Winston Duke as M'Baku
- Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki
- Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier
- Ian McKellen as Magneto
- Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler
- Rebecca Romijn as Mystique
- James Marsden as Cyclops
- Channing Tatum as Gambit
Yes, that is a wild lineup. It looks like the movie is pulling from all corners of Marvel screen history, and if you were waiting to finally see Tatum do the Gambit thing, this is it.
Dates to circle
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows a year later on December 17, 2027.
Bottom line: Evans showing up in that teaser is not nothing, Tatum is not saying a word, and Marvel’s spoiler police remain undefeated.
