Celebs Warn P Diddy: The One Mistake That Could Put Him in Danger If He Goes to Prison
From day-one alliances to the art of going unseen, a reality TV veteran breaks down the brutal basics of surviving FCI Fort Dix — and why celebrity status can be a liability on the inside.
Quick update on where things stand with Sean 'Diddy' Combs: the music mogul is settling into life at a different federal prison, and a couple of very familiar names are weighing in on how he should handle it. Some of the advice is sensible. Some of it is... colorful.
Where he is and what the sentence actually is
On October 3, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian handed Diddy a 50-month prison sentence, a $500,000 fine, and five years of supervised release once he is out. After a stretch at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, he was moved earlier this month to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, which is generally considered less dangerous than the MDC.
What a Fort Dix alum says (yes, that one)
Joe Giudice, the Real Housewives of New Jersey vet who served 41 months at Fort Dix for multiple financial fraud convictions, told Us Weekly that Diddy should be fine if he keeps his head down and avoids big-shot behavior. That said, Giudice has also painted a rougher picture of the place. He told Fox News Digital he saw gang activity and stabbings there, and he doubled down to Us Weekly with some wild claims, including sex in the showers. He said he watched someone get stabbed over an onion, and that guards sometimes ignored late-night shower noises. If true, that is not exactly minimum-security summer camp.
What Diddy is actually doing inside
According to Diddy representative Juda Engelmayer (via The Mirror US), he is keeping a low profile and focusing on getting back to his kids. TMZ reports he is working in the chapel library and has also been assigned laundry duty at Fort Dix. So, for now, the game plan is: lay low and work.
Suge Knight weighs in
After the sentencing news broke, Suge Knight told CNN that the time would obviously hit Diddy's family, while also offering some closure for his two victims. He noted Diddy's reputation means inmates will either embrace him or resent him, and said the system will try to keep him safe, but only up to a point.
'Three years seems like thirty years to Puffy. So it is not like, he is walking in there and it is going to be Disneyland.'
Knight also questioned the lack of public support from Diddy's former partners in court and laid out a very blunt survival plan.
The survival manual, according to people who have done time
- Giudice: Keep your profile low; do not act like a big shot.
- Giudice also claims Fort Dix has gangs, stabbings, and sex in the showers; he says he saw someone stabbed over an onion and that guards sometimes ignored what they heard at night.
- Knight: Expect love or hate because of your name; the system will try to protect you, but ultimately you have to protect yourself.
- Knight's advice: Do your own time and do not rely on anyone to have your back, work out and get healthier, avoid drugs and unnecessary drama, be ready to defend yourself, and remember you are not home until you are home.
Rumors, denials, and the Trump chatter
There has been some prison gossip, naturally. The Mirror US relayed an insider claim that Diddy was drinking homemade alcohol made from Fanta, sugar, and apples. His team denied that, saying his focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.
Then there is the political rumor mill. RadarOnline reported that inside Fort Dix, Diddy has been telling fellow inmates that Donald Trump can still get him out soon and 'owes him one,' after Trump acknowledged receiving Diddy's request for a pardon. Their sources say Diddy has even suggested the paperwork is just timing. That has sparked speculation that he has leverage tied to Trump's past. RadarOnline also reported that officials have denied any plan for Trump to commute Diddy's sentence. In other words: lots of talk, zero confirmation.
Appeal status and release date
Diddy's attorneys have officially filed an appeal of the 50-month sentence, per Billboard. For now, his projected release date is June 4, 2028.
