Fans are divided over the new romance between the two unexpected characters.

Dick Wolf, the renowned producer, applied the successful approach of Grey's Anatomy to rejuvenate a somewhat stale crime procedural formula of NBC Chicago franchise, creating a bunch of shows centered around various Chicago institutions.

And one of the most popular among them was Chicago Fire, a series that perfectly combined interesting weekly cases with spunky romantic drama between firefighters. People loved the mix of the personal and professional lives of the interesting characters and were eager to see what other romantic pairings would be created in the near future. But it seems that the latest couple leaves a lot to be desired.

In the recently released 15th episode, fans were shocked to learn that new firefighter Sam Carver had started a relationship with Lieutenant Wendy Seager, who came back to the series after quite some time away.

People still don't quite understand why the writers decided to make these characters into a couple, but the idea certainly seems interesting. Some fans are already praising the chemistry between them, saying that they were totally made for each other. Needless to say, not all fans support this idea.

Most members of the community are simply neutral about this romantic development, arguing that two supporting characters officially becoming a thing is not such a big deal. While both Carver and Seager are quite interesting, they are still far from being the essential characters on Chicago Fire, so most fans' lack of concern for them is understandable.

Others are much more critical of this unexpected twist, calling it forced and superficial, arguing that Carver and Seager have virtually nothing in common, so this whole relationship seems like a way for the producers to keep things fresh.

Some Seager fans are even angry at the screenwriters, censuring them for using this interesting character solely for a romantic plot rather than her own storyline, which she undoubtedly deserves.

However, it seems that Carver and Seeger are still quite casual with each other, which means that their being together is not yet fully defined.
