Is Apple TV+ ready to uncork Drops of God Season 3, or is this vintage tapped out? After Camille inherits the high-stakes legacy of legendary oenologist Alexandre Léger and his lavish Tokyo estate, fans are craving another pour of this globe-spanning wine drama.

If you just wrapped Drops of God Season 2 and are wondering what happens next, here’s where things stand: the wine drama is in limbo for now.

Where things stand

Apple TV+ has not renewed or canceled Drops of God Season 3. That’s the whole story at the moment. As usual, a renewal comes down to the data cocktail: ratings, viewership, completion rate, audience buzz, and whether the money math works. Season 2 only just finished, so the numbers that actually matter to a greenlight are still settling.

How the numbers look so far

There was a tiny wobble compared to the debut season’s raves, but the scorecard is still strong. It’s also worth remembering these early critic counts are small and tend to shift.

  • Season 2 Tomatometer: 91% based on 11 critic reviews (down 9% from Season 1’s perfect score)
  • Season 2 audience score: 87%

Translation: nothing here screams doom. If anything, it says people are still into it.

What Season 2 was digging into

This French-American-Japanese series, created by Quoc Dang Tran, follows Camille, who learns her famous father, Alexandre Leger — an elite oenologist with an enviable cellar and a lavish Tokyo estate — has died. She heads to Tokyo to claim her inheritance and collides with a young oenologist who becomes, let’s say, a very complicated variable.

Executive producer Klaus Zimmermann summed up the season’s focus in a recent interview:

"Well, one of the core conflicts remains who is the best between them. So there’s no direct competition. And then I would say, What is it that you choose as a legacy? Do you embrace your legacy that is left behind you or are you going a different way than your parents want it for you? I [think] that’s a key question."

In other words: talent, legacy, and the price of choosing your own path — all poured with a healthy swirl of rivalry.

The bottom line

No decision yet on Season 3. It’s early, the metrics are good-to-very-good, and Apple will make its call once the full picture comes in. In the meantime, you can catch up on Drops of God Seasons 1 and 2 on Apple TV+.
