A year and a half after its announcement, the book is almost there.

Since the dawn of her career, Britney Spears has been considered a controversial pop icon, and her explicitly sexual music videos and outfits, as well as multiple scandals the star was involved in over the years, further cemented that notion. Nevertheless, the singer still boasts an expansive and extremely supportive fandom and remains relevant almost 25 years since her chart debut in November 1998.

In recent years, the public had been following Britney's legal dispute with her father, James Spears, as she tried to terminate his conservatorship of her and her estate. The star's fans were, of course, outraged by the matter and started the #FreeBritney movement to support the singer and draw attention to deeper issues regarding legal guardianship and the rights of people affected by it.

Luckily, Spears managed to get rid of her father's control over her life in 2021, and next year, the star announced she was going to write a memoir, sending her fans into a total frenzy. A $15-million deal was signed with the publishers, making the singer's upcoming book one of the most lucrative literary endeavors in history. By comparison, Prince Harry's Spare brought him $20 million, which he promised to donate to charity.

Half a year later, the singer revealed that her memoir would be titled The Woman in Me, and the book would come out on October 24, 2023. As the date draws near, the star's fans seem unable to contain their excitement.

Many people have pointed out that the book is eponymous with Shania Twain's 1995 album. Given that Twain wrote some songs, including Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know, for Spears, fans find it adorable that the star decided to credit another pop icon in her memoir's title.

There are also rumors that the memoir may come out as an audio book, and if so, Britney will likely narrate it herself. This would be a great treat to the star's massive fandom, who would love their favorite musician to read the book for them — especially a book about her own life!

On the other hand, some people are worried that the book might make Britney fixate on her trauma and prevent her recovery. But it looks like the singer is already doing her best in this respect, enjoying her life with her young husband Sam Asghari, whom she married in June 2022.

'I hope [the book] is good and empowering for her and not another example of someone victimizing her when she's in a vulnerable place,' a fan said on Reddit.
