As much as Simon tried to be mysterious and reserved, he couldn't hide his love for the Teletubbies.

Since its premiere in 2007, Britain's Got Talent has been one of the most entertaining reality competition shows, delighting viewers with incredible singers and auditions where just about anything can happen.

The intrigue of who will perform is one of the most exciting moments of the show, and sometimes, the contestants manage to surprise both the audience and the judges, including the show's creator and permanent panelist Simon Cowell.

With the new season of BGT just a few days away, the official accounts are actively promoting the new installment of the show by posting the most memorable segments from the previous seasons. Recently, fans were treated to a clip from the previous 15th season, where Simon Cowell was clearly not expecting to see a very eccentric quartet take the stage.

Before the judges were none other than Teletubbies themselves, the four famous characters from the children's show of the same title. Thanks to its colorful characters, a weird storyline, and an equally surreal design, the series was loved by kids in Britain and all over the world, and it seems that Simon Cowell is also among the show's fans.

This was probably BGT's wildest audition ever. Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po took the stage and gave the judges headbands shaped like antennae on the characters' heads.

After a short introduction, the cute creatures with TVs in their bellies showed off their moves dancing to songs by Beyoncé, ABBA, and One Direction, wowing the judges and viewers alike.

Barely able to contain a smile, Simon admitted that he had worked with the Teletubbies on their first hit song 'Teletubbies Say "Eh-oh!".' As it turned out, the performance was to mark the children's show's 25th anniversary on television, and the four characters wanted to thank Simon for his contribution to their success. Back in 1997, it was Cowell who brokered the deal with the BBC to release the Teletubbies' first single, which became a big hit and made the company huge profits.

'We had a lot of success together,' Simon said, struggling to hold back tears. 'This is a big moment.' Then he came on stage and hugged each of the Teletubbies. How sweet!

Let's hope the upcoming season brings us even more exciting and surprising performances. Britain's Got Talent Season 16 will arrive on ITV on April 15, 8 PM ET.
