Bridgerton Stars Made a Bizarre 'Pact' on Set, Here's What It's All About
Regé-Jean Page revealed that he had an agreement with his co-star Phoebe Dynevor.
During his recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert , Duke Simon Basset himself (Regé-Jean Page) revealed that he had an agreement with his co-star Phoebe Dynevor who portrayed Daphne Bridgerton. The two characters had a hot romance. And as they did, the actors had some awkward scenes to film.
Acting is a difficult task already. So is human intimacy in real life. But when you mix the two, the level of discomfort rises dramatically. No wonder there are special people called intimacy directors who help actors get through such situations.
Sometimes actors improvise and come up with ways to make intimate scenes as comfortable for each other as possible. The easiest way is to talk everything through with your partner on set.
While talking about his new role in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie and his co-star Chris Pine’s nice smell, Regé-Jean Page remembered that smells were the issue he wanted to eliminate on the set of Bridgerton.
As the actors had to be on set for a significant amount of time, they drank a lot of coffee to stay awake. The beverage resulted in both of them having terrible coffee breaths, the actor said. That’s where the pact came in handy. The two negotiated their on-set diets before intimate scenes, so that nobody reeked of onions or garlic.
Coffee turned out to be okay with both the actors. “Thank god!” Regé-Jean Page who apparently loves it told Stephen Colbert.
Imagine how easy and nice that would be to have clear guidelines for your own personal life. What could be simpler than voicing your dos and don’ts early on? Unfortunately, people aren’t always that logical when it comes to relationships.
As for Regé-Jean Page, you are going to see him in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on March 31st. Although the movie isn’t a romance drama, we can’t possibly know if the actor made any more pacts on its set.
In her turn, Phoebe Dynevor must have made a pact or two playing in the 2023 erotic thriller film Fair Play. It has been reported that Netflix will release it in the near future.
