Bridgerton Fans Have an Actor for Future Gregory in Mind, and It's Spot-On
It looks like one up-and-coming actor is a perfect fit to play Gregory Bridgerton in the future.
Netflix's Bridgerton is one of the most popular shows in the world right now, so promising young actors are lining up to land a role in future seasons of Shonda Rhimes's Regency-era romantic drama series.
Since the show is based on Julia Quinn's nine-book series, of which only three have been adapted, the following seasons of Bridgerton are going to see a lot of new characters introduced, and some recasts may be inevitable.
Fortunately, it looks like fans have already found a perfect actor to portray Gregory Bridgerton, the second youngest child in the family. After seeing Disney's The Little Mermaid, released on May 25, some people on the Internet began to rally for Jonah Hauer-King to get the lead part in Netflix's adaptation of the eighth book in the Bridgerton cycle.
Most of the fandom immediately agreed that the striking young actor would be a perfect fit to play Gregory in a future installment of the series, but others argued that Haue-King might not be willing to wait nearly a decade to play the character.
'This guy definitely looks like a Bridgerton bro. He may be too big of a star for Bridgerton by the time the part would be available but either way,' one fan said.
Other fans may also be a bit skeptical of the idea, arguing that Bridgerton has already found its Gregory, as 16-year-old Will Tilston is currently playing the character on the show. Some think that it would be great to see the actor mature into the adult version of his character — but let's not forget that Bridgeron is a pretty steamy show, so seeing a young boy being prepped for future sex scenes sounds disturbing to many.
'I don't want to see actors who are kids when they start to grow up to do sex scenes in the same roles they started as kids. It seems exploitative.' another fan noted. 'And remember when they did that with Arya Stark… it was disturbing.'
So it looks like Gregory will be recast in the near future, but that doesn't mean Jonah Hauer-King will get the role right away, as there are still a lot of books to adapt before Gregory's.
