Have fans reached their breaking point?

After two sensational seasons, Shondaland and Netflix's Bridgerton has amassed a sizable fan base. There is something so addictive about the love stories of the eight Bridgerton siblings living in Regency-era London that many viewers have become literally obsessed with the show.

However, there is one major issue that is causing more and more Bridgerverse fans to turn to other media. And that issue is the delay and lack of any information about the third season, which focuses on the romance between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.

The drought has become painful

The last time Bridgerton fans had something real to talk about was back in June during the Netflix Tudum event. But even then, all they got was a few first-look stills instead of the video teaser or official trailer everyone was expecting.

September 25th marked a year and a half since the Season 2 premiere. And while Shonda Rhimes promised when Season 2 debuted 15 months after Season 1 that the wait for the next chapters would be shorter, her words apparently don't mean much to whoever decides the release dates and continues to torture fans with the delay.

‘My situation now is that I am excited for the show but done with the waiting period,’ a fan wrote on Reddit. ‘Beggars can't be choosers but this beggar needs something to sustain.’

December premiere feels unreal

At this point, fans are starting to lose hope for the December release, which has been the dominant theory within the fandom since the Tudum event.

Fans expected Season 3 to arrive on December 14, after Netflix Portugal accidentally posted the date on its social media accounts. However, as time goes on, the December premiere is looking more and more far-fetched.

‘Lets be real, if it was coming in December, the most likely scenario would be that Netflix would’ve confirmed the release date by now,’ a fan explained on Reddit.

Bridgerton Season 2 was announced exactly three months before it landed on Netflix. So it made sense to expect a Season 3 update in September. But the month is coming to an end and there is still radio silence from the platform.

‘I’ve given up hope of the season premiering in December, but c’mon can’t Netflix at least say that the new season is coming in 2024?’ a fan wrote, echoing the sentiment of many. ‘I need some sort of confirmation to keep me from going insane!’

It's hard to argue with that. Isn't it?
