Would you recognize Bridgerton stars if you met them in real life?

There's no denying that we are obsessed with the romantic Regency-era vibe of Netflix's hit show Bridgerton. Everything from the stunning sets to the amazing costumes and hairstyles transports viewers to a cozy and wonderfully imaginative world where beautiful characters have exciting love affairs that are thrilling to follow and always end happily.

The early 1800s setting requires Bridgerton characters to look and behave appropriately for the time, and that's why it is difficult to imagine the show's cast members in the modern world. On red carpets or in their casual outfits, some actors are simply unrecognizable.

Let's see what the beloved Bridgerton cast looks like in real life.

Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton)

Let's start with Season 1 star Phoebe Dynevor, who is as stunning in real life as she is on the screen. The 28-year-old actress easily changes her hair color and looks impressive on any red carpet. Earlier this year, fans were disappointed to learn that Dynevor wouldn't be appearing in Season 3, but the star has several other exciting projects coming up in the next few months.

Regé-Jean Page (Simon Basset)

The handsome and traumatized Duke of Hastings stole the hearts of audiences around the world in Bridgerton Season 1. After his character's love story with Daphne Bridgerton came to a happy ending, Regé-Jean Page decided not to reprise the role, much to the dismay of fans. But we can catch up with the beloved 35-year-old actor in The Gray Man (2022) and this year's fantasy film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton)

Bridgerton Season 2 focused on a new romantic hero and heartbreaker, Anthony Bridgerton, played by the brilliant Jonathan Bailey. The 35-year-old actor has a long stage career, which he hasn't abandoned even after his Bridgerton breakthrough. Fortunately, unlike his co-stars, Bailey hasn't left the project, and fans are in for some steamy scenes between the Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton.

Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma)

Anthony's romance partner, Kate Sharma, is played by Simone Ashley, whom viewers know from Netflix's hit show Sex Education. The 28-year-old actress will surely reprise her role in Bridgerton, appearing alongside Bailey in Season 3. As for her other projects, Ashley has landed the role of Indira, Ariel's sister, in Disney's The Little Mermaid, which is hitting the big screens on May 26, 2023.

Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton)

With Bridgerton Season 3 just around the corner, fans can't wait to see the friends-to-lovers arc between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington unfold. According to the teasers, 30-year-old Luke Newton, who plays Colin, has gotten a makeover for the upcoming season, shaving off his sideburns, and has all the potential to be the show's next heartbreaker.

Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington)

If there's one member of the Bridgerton cast you'll have a hard time recognizing in real life, it's Nicola Coughlan, the 36-year-old Irish actress who plays one of the most complicated characters — Penelope Featherington. In the first two seasons, Penelope was intentionally made to look childish and kind of ridiculous. But in Season 3, dedicated to her romance with Colin, fans expect Penelope to get flattering, better-fitting outfits and a sophisticated hairdo that will make her look as gorgeous as Coughlan does in real life.

Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton)

Benedict Bridgerton's 34-year-old actor, Luke Thompson, is a very private person and not active on social media. He has an acclaimed theater career and is currently starring in the stage adaptation of A Little Life. Thompson's feature film debut was in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk. Bridgerton fans are expecting the second Bridgerton sibling to dominate the fourth season, which will most likely premiere in 2024.

Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton)

Like her co-star, Claudia Jessie is not a fan of social media. Nevertheless, the 33-year-old actress has an established fan base that has been following her career for years. The Eloise Bridgerton actress has starred in several successful projects, including the CBBC online web series Dixi, BBC One's WPC 56 and Line of Duty, the sitcom Josh, and the drama series Bali 2002.

Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton)

Ruth Gemmell, 55, has had an impressive television career, appearing in pretty much every prominent British TV project from EastEnders to Silent Witness. British audiences know her best from the Tracy Beaker franchise, where she played the mother of the title character.

Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte)

Just like her fictional counterpart, Golda Rosheuvel likes to wear different, sometimes crazy hairstyles on the red carpet. In addition to Bridgerton, which brought her international fame, the 52-year-old Guyanese-British actress is known and acclaimed for her theater work.

Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury)

Like Queen Charlotte, the sharp-tongued Lady Danbury is a fan-favorite character who influences everything that happens in the ton and gives the Bridgerverse a much-needed edge. Adjoa Andoh, who turned 60 this year, has had an impressive career in television and theater, appearing in such hit projects as Doctor Who, Law & Order, and The Witcher.
