Goldstein is full of crazy ideas, and they're definitely worth seeing on screen!

The third and final season of arguably the best sports comedy-drama of recent years, Ted Lasso, ended exactly two months ago, but we still can't get over it.

The series delivered an accomplished story that, despite the soccer setting, was primarily about people and their attempts to overcome trauma, learn from mistakes, and let go of unhealthy attachments.

But like many great movies and TV shows, a good script never gives a definitive answer and resolution to the story, leaving room for the audience to fantasize and interpret. Even though the show's title character, Ted, returned to America at the end of the story, it's far from the final chapter for AFC Richmond, and fans continue to wonder about possible spin-offs.

One of the show's stars, Brett Goldstein, has come up with an excellent idea.

Goldstein initially joined the project as a writer, but his tape audition convinced co-creator Bill Lawrence that he should play Roy Kent. And the legendary producer wasn't wrong, as Roy became one of the series' most compelling characters: Brett had a great feel for the tone of the show, the ideas Sudeikis was trying to convey, and Roy's role in the middle of it all.

It all goes to show how well he understands the story and why we can trust him with ideas for potential spin-offs. Speaking to EW, Goldstein suggested an idea that makes perfect sense.

'Well, yeah, it'd be Roy making chocolate biscuits for Rebecca, and Beard and Roy working out who could communicate least. And Nate doing all the good stuff. And a lot of bloody laughs along the way,' Goldstein said.

This seemingly absurd idea contains the main points that made Ted Lasso a vibrant series, fleshing out some of the show's less revealed moments: the dynamic of Roy and Rebecca, built on respect; the development of Roy's and Beard's social skills; and Nate, who is finally starting to change for the better. And, of course, lots of humor!

Goldstein also suggested some ideas like a musical with Roy's niece Phoebe (in a zombie setting), a religious drama with Higgins' son, and a spin-off about a mysterious couple who chased Beard in the finale.

It all seems a little too surreal, doesn't it? But in the hands of good writers, any plot can be worthwhile. After all, not everyone was attracted to the story of an American college coach who went on to train a professional soccer team, so those crazy spin-off ideas could greatly expand the Ted Lasso fandom.
