Bosch: Legacy Season 2 Release Schedule & Where to Watch It
The beloved show is coming back sooner than expected.
When Bosch premiered on Amazon Prime in 2014, no one expected the crime show to become the biggest hit in the streaming giant's library, but it managed to prove all the naysayers wrong. The police drama, based on Michael Connelly novels, got better and better with each new installment, and when Amazon Prime announced that it was ending the show with its seventh season, the fandom was heartbroken.
Fortunately, executives decided to produce a spinoff, Bosch Legacy, which once again starred Titus Welliver as the lead detective and premiered on Amazon Freebee in 2022. The new vision for the franchise was met with acclaim from both critics and fans, but some viewers are still confused about the show's future.
The show will return
Given how popular Legacy became on Freevee, it wasn't too surprising that Amazon renewed the show for its second run, which wrapped filming in December 2022. The creative team took their time with the post-production process, which means the second installment will look much more impressive than the first.
Recently, Amazon Freevee announced that Legacy will return with a second season on October 20, when four of the new episodes will be available for streaming in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria.
A great format
While it has become common practice for streaming services to split seasons of popular shows in two in hopes of making more money from IPs, Freevee surprisingly opted against it, creating a perfect release schedule for fans to see the new Bosch as soon as possible.
Beginning October 27 and continuing through November 10, Legacy will premiere two episodes every Friday, allowing fans to watch the entire season in just twenty days. Fans are already praising the streaming service for such a decision, as withholding content has become a notorious practice in the streaming world in recent years.
And considering how stellar the first season of the spin-off was, people have no doubt that the second installment will be even better, possibly leaving room for a possible season 3.
