Big No For #Burzek: Chicago PD Fans Just Can't Stand Adam & Hailey's Romance
It seems that the short-term relationship between the two characters is still causing fans some anxiety.
The NBC Chicago franchise is another hugely popular creation of producer Dick Wolf, creator of the Law & Order series.
In a succession of shows centered around various Chicago institutions, Wolfe decided to try something new, providing fans with a fascinating mix of interesting weekly cases and good old-fashioned romantic relationships between colleagues that take up quite a bit of screen time.
And it turned out to be a great decision, as Chicago PD has become one of the most popular crime series currently airing.
While most of the romantic couples in the series are much beloved by the fandom, one in particular angered fans – Adam and Hailey's brief romance. At the time of her romance with Adam, Hailey was in a relationship with Jay and fans hated her for it.
Jay was struggling with his mental health after his father died in a fire and Hailey tried to be there for him, but he kept pushing her away. During that hard time, Hailey started sleeping with Adam, resulting in a downward spiral in her relationship.
Although Hailey was well aware that Adam was still desperately in love with his ex-girlfriend Kim, she decided to start an affair with him anyway, which further angered fans.
Although Adam and Hailey broke up after just a couple of episodes, after realizing that they wanted to be friends and not lovers, fans are still worried that it all happened in the first place.
Many people admit that they started to hate Hayley after this storyline, as the detective started behaving rather strangely at the time. Even though she mended her relationship with Adam and they even got married, fans still think she ruined their connection and turned the beloved couple into a real mess.
Even on reruns, some fans admit that they skip the episodes of Hayley and Adam's romance as they are just painful to watch. Unfortunately, the memories of what happened could never be erased.
