Pushing Daisies Revived: Season 3 in the Works 16 Years After Cancellation
Pushing Daisies could rise again 16 years after cancellation, with creator Bryan Fuller revealing a completed Season 3 pitch and the original cast eager to return.
Pushing Daisies might actually rise from the dead. Yes, 16 years after ABC pulled the plug, creator Bryan Fuller says a third season is actively in the works and the original cast wants back in. This is the most hopeful update the show has had since 2009.
So what did Fuller actually say?
"Well, we're working on a Season 3, and the whole cast wants to come back. And, we've got a whole story. We're trying to do another season this year."
That was Fuller while doing press for his new movie Dust Bunny. He also mentioned there's a detailed Season 3 proposal already mapped out. Translation: they have a plan and willing actors. The one thing they still need is a buyer. Earlier, he told ComicBook that the pitch is ready, the cast is in, and they just need someone to actually make it.
Where things stand
Fuller calls this a real push toward Season 3, not just wishful thinking. No network or streamer has been announced yet, but the momentum is clearly better than it has been in years.
A quick refresher on the show
Originally produced by Warner Bros. Television, Pushing Daisies aired on ABC from 2007 to 2009. It starred Lee Pace as Ned, a pie-maker who can bring the dead back to life (with extremely tricky rules and consequences). It was bright, strange, romantic, macabre, and one of those short-lived series people still bring up like a fond fever dream.

- Anna Friel
- Kristin Chenoweth
- Chi McBride
- Swoosie Kurtz
- Ellen Greene
- Field Cate
Is the cast really game?
Apparently yes. Fuller says everyone wants back in. Earlier this year, Lee Pace told TV Insider he hadn't heard anything concrete yet, but he loves the people, loves Fuller, and loves the character. In other words: he's in if it happens.
Where to watch the old episodes
The existing seasons are streaming on Max (formerly HBO Max). If you need a refresher or you're wondering why people are still obsessed, they're right there waiting.
Bottom line: Fuller and company have a full Season 3 pitch, the cast is on board, and they're trying to make it this year. Now they just need someone to write the check.
