The Big Bang Theory is an internationally popular sitcom that ran from 2007 to 2019. Little do people know that it was supposed to consist of thirteen seasons instead of the twelve there are.

What is more interesting, however, is the drama that accompanied the decision that led to eliminating season 13.

Apparently, it is Jim Parsons who is to blame for the shortage of one more season of the sitcom. Before the filming of the twelfth season of TBBT, the actor who portrayed Sheldon Cooper let his intention to leave the project be known.

While some actors took it alright, some of Parsons' co-stars were taken aback by the news. According to her colleagues, it had the roughest effect on Kaley Cuoco.

In an interview to People, The Big Bang Theory's creator Chuck Lorre said that everybody was shocked to hear that Parsons was quitting and thus there was not going to be another season, but it was Kaley Cuoco who cried most.

When later discussing her new role in The Flight Attendant with Variety, the actress recollected her work on TBBT and particularly how she learned about Jim Parsons' exit from the sitcom.

According to the actress, she was at a loss and didn't initially grasp the actor's words. Cuoco also said that many people cried that day, not because everybody counted on one more season but because of the abruptness of it all.

She added that it was unanimously agreed when Lorre said the cast was a family and they couldn't and wouldn't continue without Parsons. But the fact that Jim had told anybody of the "family" in advance really hurt many people's feelings.

Kaley was so devastated that she almost missed taping the next day. On the first day, she reportedly couldn't look Parsons directly in the eye. As The Big Bang Theory cast and crew remembered later there was a lot of tension on set.

Fortunately, the storm passed and everything was soon as usual again. And Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons who had caused her so much anguish managed to maintain an amicable relationship behind the scenes.
