There's a new show by Virgin River's creator.

It's been nearly a month since the first part of season 5 of Netflix's popular drama, Virgin River was released, so it's reasonable to assume that fans have already seen it. More importantly, the second part of the new installment is set to premiere in two months. Understandably, fans are eager for more drama, and it seems they may soon get some.

Based on Robyn Carr's book series of the same name, Virgin River has captivated audiences with the intricacies of its characters' lives throughout its five-season run. The show is filled with lots of drama, and VR fans appear to have become addicted to it. Fortunately, Robyn Carr has other notable book series, one of which has its own screen adaptation.

Sullivan's Crossing

His most recent book series, Sullivan's Crossing, debuted in 2016. Currently, it consists of five volumes. Additionally, it has recently been adapted into a namesake TV show on CTV.

Focusing on Maggie Sullivan, a gifted neurosurgeon who suddenly finds herself in legal trouble, Sullivan's Crossing delves into her life as she moves back to her hometown in Nova Scotia to reconnect with her roots. To date, the show has had one ten-episode season that is currently airing on The CW in the US.

Worth Watching?

If you're feeling uncertain about the show, don't be. First and foremost, Sullivan's Crossing was developed by Robyn Carr herself, ensuring the story remained as authentic as the television format would allow. Furthermore, the series, set in Nova Scotia, was actually filmed there, featuring the locations depicted in the books, unlike Virgin River, which is set in Northern California but filmed in British Columbia.

Most significantly, Sullivan's Crossing has already been renewed for a second season by both CTV and The CW, meaning it's worth investing your time in, seeing how, if you start watching it and like it, a second season is already on the horizon.
